Segway introduced two new electric bikes at CES 2025, designed to enhance the cycling experience with innovative features and superior performance. The bikes, named Xyber and Xafari, are now available for pre-order, with delivery expected in February.
Both models come equipped with Segway’s Intelligent Ride System, which includes advanced features such as AirLock for theft prevention, Apple Find My and Segway GPS for tracking, adaptive pedal assist, and an intelligent lighting system. The bikes also offer health and fitness data syncing, over-the-air updates, and remote control via the app. A smart TFT display automatically adjusts brightness for optimal visibility.
The Xyber, priced at $2,999.99, stands out for its powerful performance. Designed with dirt bike energy in mind, the Xyber features up to 175 Nm of torque and 6,000 watts of peak power. It can reach a top speed of 35 mph in its dual-battery configuration, offering a range of up to 112 miles on a single charge.
Despite its motorcycle-like appearance, the Xyber includes pedals and 12 levels of pedal-assist, making it suitable for a variety of riding experiences. However, Segway clarifies that the Xyber is “unclassified” and not intended for use on public roadways or bike paths. A road-legal version is expected later this year.
On the other hand, the Xafari, priced at $2,399.99, is a classic step-through cruiser designed for all terrains and riders. Its adjustable components, including seat height, stem, handlebar, and display, ensure a comfortable fit for riders ranging from 5’1” to 6’2”.
The Xafari also offers an impressive suspension system and 26 x 3-inch tires for a smooth ride. The 936 Wh battery, integrated into the stem, provides a range of up to 88 miles, and includes a USB port for charging devices on the go. With a rear-mounted rack and additional storage bags, the Xafari is designed for those who need a reliable bike for errands and daily tasks.
