Rolec, a UK manufacturer of DC rapid and ultra-rapid charging equipment, has launched an updated version of its UltraCharge DC charging range in collaboration with Dutch design and engineering company EVbee. The partnership combines Rolecās experience in the UK market with EVbeeās EV charging technology.
The updated UltraCharge range includes four new models, offering power outputs from 40 kW up to over 1.6 MW to address a range of commercial and public sector applications. Enhancements include improved LCD screens, advanced cable management, reduced physical size, and simplified installation, with no increase in cost.
The chargers support multiple connectivity options such as Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and 4G, and comply with PAS 1899 standards. Charging can be managed via ISO15118 plug & charge, RFID, OCPP apps, or contactless payment.
Rolec brings over six years of DC charging experience, while EVbee contributes modular solutions and a presence in the European market. According to Rolecās Managing Director, the companies share a focus on DC charging expansion and flexible design. EVbeeās founder noted the alignment between the companies in terms of innovation and market presence.
The UltraCharge 40 offers 40 kW charging in a compact form, suitable for small businesses and workplaces, with options for wall or post mounting. The UltraCharge 80 provides up to 80 kW with dual outputs and power sharing, targeting commercial sites and depots. The UltraCharge 180, configurable from 120 kW to 180 kW, supports high-traffic locations with dual CCS2 cables and an integrated advertising screen.
The UltraCharge 400 delivers modular ultra-rapid charging between 200 kW and 400 kW, allowing dual simultaneous vehicle charging. It supports a broad voltage range and is suitable for larger commercial vehicles such as trucks, buses, and boats, capable of charging up to 80% in under 10 minutes.
All models are compatible with Rolecās charge point management partners and receive over-the-air updates for ongoing improvements. Rolec has over 35 years of manufacturing experience and 17 years in EV charging, with more than 370,000 charge points supplied and installed. EVbee, established in 2022, focuses on durable and reliable charging solutions for public and home use.
