Chinese LiDAR manufacturer RoboSense said it has secured a major supply order from Dongfeng Nissan, the joint venture between Nissan Motor and Dongfeng Motor, highlighting its expanding role among global automakers operating in China.
The company said it will provide digital LiDAR products for multiple Dongfeng Nissan models, with total orders close to one million units. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2026, according to RoboSense. Financial details were not disclosed.

The announcement marks RoboSense’s second major order disclosed this month. Earlier, the company reported a large-scale supply agreement with FAW Toyota, under which it will deliver nearly one million LiDAR units over the next five years for one of the automaker’s best-selling models.
RoboSense entered Toyota’s supplier network in February 2023, becoming the first Chinese LiDAR manufacturer to supply LiDAR products for multiple Toyota models. Founded in 2014, the company has grown into one of China’s largest LiDAR makers, offering short-, mid- and long-range solutions for automotive applications.

The company said it delivered more than 150,000 LiDAR units in November. As of Nov. 25, RoboSense’s EM platform LiDAR had secured supply contracts covering 56 vehicle models across 13 automakers.
The latest order comes as Japanese automakers step up efforts to regain ground in China’s fast-growing electric vehicle market, where domestic brands have gained share in recent years. Dongfeng Nissan this year launched the N7 pure-electric sedan and the N6 hybrid sedan at competitive prices, and has filed regulatory paperwork for the NX8 mid-to-large SUV, the third model in its N-Series lineup.
