Fresh off the heels of Rivian’s teaser video for its upcoming R2 SUV, set to debut on March 7, images of what could be the R2 have surfaced online. The photos, purportedly taken during a photo or video shoot, show the vehicle “in the wild,” though their accuracy remains unverified.

The images, initially shared on Reddit and later on X (formerly Twitter), depict a vehicle resembling Rivian’s signature design language, consistent with the teaser video released the day before. The setting, atop a parking lot, suggests a controlled environment for the shoot, allowing for restricted access.

Despite the blurry, watercolor-like quality of the images, likely due to being captured with a smartphone from a considerable distance, they offer a glimpse of what could be Rivian’s most affordable model yet. The R2 SUV is expected to start at around €37,000, nearly half the price of Rivian’s current SUV, the R1S, potentially broadening the brand’s appeal to a wider audience.

While these images provide a tantalizing preview, it’s essential to exercise caution, as their authenticity has not been officially confirmed. Nevertheless, they add to the excitement surrounding Rivian’s latest offering and its potential impact on the electric vehicle market.
