Rivian Officially Launches Electric Vehicle Leasing Program in 14 U.S. States

American automaker Rivian has introduced an electric vehicle (EV) leasing program, making it available on its online configurator. Starting immediately, customers in 14 initial states can explore leasing options for Rivian’s R1T pickup from the company’s existing inventory.

The announcement follows Rivian’s recent communication to its subscriber base, confirming the imminent launch of a U.S. leasing program. While details were initially limited, it was revealed that the leasing initiative would apply to existing R1T models in Rivian’s inventory. The move was coupled with the automaker’s demand lever strategy, offering incentives for pre-configured R1T purchases.

Rivian has now disclosed the initial 14 states where customers can participate in its leasing program. Interested individuals can explore leasing options by entering their zip code on Rivian’s website. The eligible states for the R1T pickup lease program include Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Nevada, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Washington.

Rivian plans to extend its leasing program to include custom-built vehicles, such as the R1S, in the future. The company also aims to expand lease availability to additional states. Further details on this expansion will be shared by Rivian as they become available.

Customers interested in leasing options can utilize the R1T configurator or visit Rivian’s lease support page, which provides information on potential federal tax credits for leasing a new electric vehicle.
