Rieju, the Spanish electric motorcycle, has officially become the first transportation product to obtain cybersecurity certification.
Reported by rideapart, the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, set a series of cybersecurity requirements that must be met by new vehicles by July 2024.
All vehicles—including cars, trucks, buses, and motorcycles—must receive cybersecurity certification ensuring that they meet all necessary requirements at all points during their expected lifecycle.

Understand the importance of securing passwords from hijacking via cyberspace. In December 2021, Spain-based electric motorcycle manufacturer Rieju announced that its electric scooters had received this certification.
And, this Rieju Nuuk CargoPro is a 6kW electric delivery scooter with a top speed of 90 km/h (under 56 mph) with a range of between 100 and 120 kilometers (or 62 to 74.5 miles) that has earned the cybersecurity certification.

To receive this certification, vehicles must successfully undergo three different types of testing: physical, remote access, and application security.
