The two models are Renault Trucks T E-Tech and Renault Trucks C E-Tech. Both models are new models with a weight of 44 tons that have different capabilities. Renault Trucks T E-Tech is projected for long-distance transportation. Meanwhile, Renault Trucks C E-Tech is for construction site transport.
Both new models will be produced at the Renault Trucks factory in Bourg-en-Bresse, France. The two models themselves come in various versions: as 4×2 and 6×2 semitrailer tractors and as 4×2, 6×2 and 8×4 tridem vehicles.
Renault Trucks T E-Tech and Renault Trucks C E-Tech have two and three electric motors, respectively, for a total output of up to 490 kW (666 hp).
Renault provides a variety of battery packs according to customer requirements. There are two to six lithium-ion battery packs with capacities from 180 to 540 kWh.
A full charge of the battery takes 9.5 hours with alternating current (up to 43 kW) or 2.5 hours with direct current (up to 250 kW).
In one full charge the electric truck can reach up to 300 kilometers. With an additional one hour (250 kW) fast charge, it can be extended up to 500 kilometers.
Renault itself continues to expand their electric vehicle portfolio. Renault targets that by 2030, 50 percent of their sales will come from electric vehicles.
