Stellantis, the parent company of Ram Trucks, has recently teased its upcoming fully electric van, the ProMaster EV, which is set to debut in the first half of 2023. The ProMaster EV will compete directly with the Ford E-Transit and is poised to become a major player in the rapidly growing electric commercial vehicle market.
The teaser photo included in the Stellantis financial results presentation shows the front end of the van, based on the high-roof model, and features an illuminated RAM emblem on the front grille. While we don’t have many details about the ProMaster EV’s design, it’s likely that the electric van will have a redesigned grille and new badges to differentiate it from the ICE-powered ProMaster.

The ProMaster EV is expected to share its hardware with the Fiat E-Ducato, Citroen e-Jumper, and Peugeot e-Boxer triplets that have been available in Europe since 2020. This means that the ProMaster EV will most likely come with a single electric motor producing 120 horsepower (90 kW / 122 PS) and 280 Nm (210 lb-ft) of torque, with a choice of two battery packs that offer an EV range of between 124 to 205 miles (200-330 km).
Ram Trucks had already announced that the ProMaster EV was under development back in March 2022 when it unveiled the facelifted 2023 Ram ProMaster. The company cited “strong customer demand” as the reason for developing the ProMaster EV, and it has already confirmed that Amazon will be the first customer for the ProMaster EV, with a fleet of thousands of units set to be deployed across the United States.
