British bicycle maker Raleigh has unveiled the Captus, a new premium low-step frame e-bike designed for everyday commuting and leisure riding, the company said on Tuesday. The Captus combines a Bosch Active Line mid-drive motor with a Bosch Powerpack Rack 400 Wh battery, offering riders up to 70 miles (112.6 km) of assisted range on a single charge.

The e-bike weighs around 25 kg (55.1 lbs) and is built on a lightweight aluminum frame. It is equipped with a Shimano 9-speed derailleur system, hydraulic disc brakes, and a 50 mm front suspension fork for added comfort on varied terrain. The Bosch Active Line motor delivers up to 40 Nm of torque and supports a top-assisted speed of 15.5 mph (25 km/h), depending on regional regulations.

Raleigh has included a Bosch Purion 200 display for ride monitoring, while the Captus also features integrated lighting, including a 6–12 V front headlight and a taillight. Safety and convenience are supported by an Abus frame lock, wide 28-inch tires, and a full set of accessories such as mudguards, a pannier rack, and a kickstand.

Available in a Titanium color finish, the Captus is priced at £1,899 (about $2,400). Buyers can choose from three frame sizes — 41 cm, 46 cm, and 51 cm — to suit different riders. The model is currently available through Raleigh’s official website in the UK and EU markets.
