QCraft and HERE Technologies have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to explore integrating HERE’s mapping and location data with QCraft’s navigation-assisted driving technology.
The agreement was signed on October 14 at HERE Directions 2026 in Munich, Germany. The companies plan to assess how their technologies could support the validation and deployment of intelligent driving systems in Europe and other international markets. The MOU establishes a framework for potential cooperation, but no specific vehicle programs or commercial deployment schedule have been announced.
Exploring Mapping Integration
The proposed collaboration will examine how HERE’s location data and mapping capabilities could be incorporated into QCraft’s driver assistance systems. The work is intended to address differences in road infrastructure, traffic conditions and driving requirements across markets.
QCraft Vice President of Business Gang Zhao and HERE Technologies Chief Customer Officer Jason Jameson signed the agreement at Motorworld Munich.
Zhao said QCraft’s existing vehicle deployments provide a basis for further international development.
“Our driver assistance systems are now in more than one million vehicles,” Zhao said.
He added that adapting the systems to local driving conditions is becoming increasingly important as the company expands into Europe.
Jameson also commented on the potential role of the partnership in supporting QCraft’s international activities.
“Our partnership brings together QCraft’s deep autonomous driving expertise with HERE’s trusted location intelligence,” Jameson said.
QCraft Demonstrates Urban Driving Technology in Paris
The agreement follows QCraft’s demonstration of its QPilot Urban Navigation on Autopilot (NOA) system on public roads in Paris during the Paris Motor Show. The demonstration provided an opportunity to evaluate the technology in a European urban driving environment.
Navigation-assisted driving systems can use map information covering road layouts, lanes, junctions and speed limits. Their performance and suitability may depend on local road conditions, regulations and the availability of accurate mapping data.
HERE’s Automotive Mapping Network
HERE said its location platform supports 238 million vehicles worldwide, with more than 63 million vehicles using its data for advanced driver assistance and automated driving functions.
QCraft also received the 2026 HERE Horizon Award following its European Urban NOA demonstration. The recognition was announced in connection with the companies’ work on intelligent driving technology.
European Operations and Next Steps
QCraft has established its European headquarters in Munich, where it conducts research and development, certification and business development activities. The company says it works with more than 10 automakers across more than 40 vehicle models.
The MOU does not confirm that the companies will launch a jointly developed product. Further details about technical integration, testing arrangements, participating automakers and potential commercial deployment have not been disclosed.
