Priority Bicycles, renowned for their superior pedal bikes and e-bikes, has expanded its lineup with the introduction of the $1,699 e-Classic Plus. This new model exemplifies the brand’s commitment to delivering top-notch craftsmanship at a more accessible price point, currently retailing at just $1,399 due to a promotional discount.

Staying true to their successful approach with models like the e-Coast, Priority Bicycles enhances their popular pedal bike designs by incorporating electric assist, providing riders with an extra boost during their journeys.

CEO David Weiner explains that the e-Classic Plus continues the company’s tradition of crafting durable, user-friendly bicycles that are effortless to own, ride, and maintain. With its comfortable, lightweight build, this e-bike has quickly become Weiner’s preferred daily ride, ideal for running errands, family trips to the park, or simply opting for an eco-friendly alternative to traditional transportation.

One of the standout features of the e-Classic Plus is its low-maintenance design philosophy, where Priority Bicycles utilises a belt drive and hydraulic disc brakes to minimize upkeep requirements.

The belt drive is an efficient alternative to chain drives, requiring no oiling and boasting a longer lifespan without issues like rust, squeaking, or jamming. Although low-cost belt drive e-bikes typically come with single-speed setups, the e-Classic Plus distinguishes itself with a Nexus 3 internally geared rear hub, offering riders a three-speed transmission for greater versatility.

Additionally, the hydraulic disc brakes eliminate the need for regular cable adjustments, significantly reducing maintenance tasks. Their virtually maintenance-free nature, except for occasional pad replacements, ensures a hassle-free riding experience.

Combining these low-maintenance elements, the Priority e-Classic Plus emerges as a near-maintenance-free e-bike, providing riders with more time on the road and less in the workshop.

While the bike’s budget primarily prioritizes high-quality components, the electric side still delivers a satisfactory performance, particularly for daily commuters, though it may not be the choice for those seeking high-speed races.

The e-Classic Plus features a 250W front hub motor, paired with a 374 Wh removable battery. With speeds reaching up to 20 mph (32 km/h) and a range of 20-60 miles (32-96 km) depending on conditions, this Class 1 e-bike employs an efficient pedal-assist system, allowing for longer distances with less power consumption.

In contrast to the wattage battles seen in some e-bike manufacturers, Priority Bicycles adopts a European approach, focusing on practicality and efficiency rather than sheer power, catering to urban commuters’ needs.

The e-Classic Plus comes equipped with practical accessories such as fenders, LED lighting, a dual kickstand for added stability, and an upright frame geometry with a comfortable saddle. It is available in both diamond frame and step-through options, ensuring a versatile and enjoyable ride for various preferences.
