PowerGo, the Danish EV charging provider, has entered into a strategic partnership with hotel group Essendi to install electric vehicle charging points at several hotels across the Netherlands. The rollout will include a mix of AC and DC fast chargers, aiming to enhance sustainable travel options for hotel guests and nearby communities.
Initial installations are taking place at key hotel sites in North and South Holland, including the Ibis and Ibis Budget Amsterdam Airport hotels near Schiphol and the Novotel Rotterdam Brainpark. PowerGo has confirmed that chargers are already operational at Mercure Amsterdam City, where six 22kW AC chargers have been live since May. Two additional 150kW DC fast chargers are expected to be added soon.
Novotel Amsterdam City has also received two 150kW fast chargers and six 22kW AC outlets this month. The companies are currently evaluating other Essendi hotel locations across the country for further expansion. All chargers will follow PowerGo’s model of providing green energy with dynamic pricing.
“This partnership fits perfectly within our ESG strategy, which aims to promote positive hospitality,” said Martijn van der Graaf, Chief Operating Officer Western Europe at Essendi. “By working with PowerGo, we’re providing our customers with concrete solutions for more environmentally friendly mobility—solutions that are easy to access and make a real difference.”
PowerGo is simultaneously expanding its European network, with new charging infrastructure planned across Denmark, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Spain, particularly along major highways. The move aligns with the company’s strategy to become a key player in sustainable mobility across the continent.
