Polestar, the Swedish-Chinese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, is set to enter the French market in the summer of 2025, ending years of absence due to a trademark dispute with PSA (now Stellantis).
The company plans to establish itself using an agency sales model, leveraging partnerships within Volvo’s network, with vehicles available online and in physical showrooms across multiple French cities.

Stéphane Le Guevel, formerly Polestar’s Country Manager for Portugal and Spain, has been appointed Managing Director of Polestar France. Commenting on the development, Le Guevel said, “I am extremely honored to launch Polestar in the French market at such a strategic moment for the brand’s international expansion.”
Michael Lohscheller, Polestar’s CEO, highlighted Le Guevel’s expertise and local connections, which he believes will support Polestar’s success in one of the world’s largest EV markets.

The expansion into France marks Polestar’s 27th market and follows the resolution of a legal dispute in 2022. The lawsuit, initiated by PSA in 2020, alleged similarities between Polestar’s logo and those of Citroën and DS, delaying the brand’s entry.
With the issue now settled, Polestar is poised to introduce its EV lineup to French consumers at a time of growing demand for electric mobility.
