Polestar 3 specifications : power, battery and range

Polestar has unveiled the Polestar 3 as the latest electric car that will compete with the BMW iX and Tesla Model X. Polestar 3 is Polestar’s third new car and electric car to be produced on two continents, Asia and America.

Not only that, the Polestar 3 electric car also introduced the first Polestar Precept design language at the production car level.

“The Polestar 3 is an eye-catching electric powered SUV with a Scandinavian design and top-notch driving dynamics,” said Thomas Ingenlath, Chief Executive Officer of Polestar.

“This car takes our manufacturing footprint to the next level, bringing Polestar production to the United States,” added Ingenlath.

In short, the Polestar 3 will make the BMW iX and Tesla Model X wary. Because Polestar equip Polestar 3 with two electric motors all-wheel drive and is available in two power options at launch.

First is the standard version, two Polestar 3 electric motors giving off a combined power of 360 kW or 482 hp and 840 Nm of torque.

If the owner feels it is lacking, Polestar also provides a Performance Pack which increases the motor output to 380 kW or 509 hp and 910 Nm of torque.

Compared to the BMW iX, the standard Polestar 3 has a torque advantage over the iX xDrive50 even though it lacks a little power.

Polestar targets the standard Polestar 3 to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 5 seconds, so it is possible to be superior to the iX.

Regarding the battery, Polestar 3 gets a Long Range battery with a capacity of 111 kWh, equivalent to the iX xDrive50 and iX M60.

The target is that the Polestar 3 battery provides a range of 610 kilometers according to the Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure (WLTP) standard. Polestar says the standard power Polestar 3 Long Range starts at 89,990 euros.
