Polestar introduces performance improvements for Polestar 2 by downloading and installing over the air.

The software update for Polestar 2 can be downloaded and installed completely remotely. This software update will add 67bhp and 20Nm of torque, mainly used between 44mph and 80mph.

Polestar claims that the software update also improves general powertrain response, and results in the 0-62mph time being reduced by 0.3 seconds to 4.4 seconds. Mid-range performance also improves, with the time it takes to accelerate from 50mph to 75mph in just 2.2 seconds.

Polestar CEO Thomas Ingenlath said the software update shows how connected technology can transform the relationship between car brands and their customers.

It’s not clear whether the performance boost has had an adverse effect on the car’s quoted efficiency figures or range. Via: Autoexpress
