Peugeot has announced the extension of its Allure Care warranty scheme to its entire electric passenger model lineup, aiming to offer customers greater peace of mind regarding long-term reliability. The move comes amidst increasing interest in electric vehicles (EVs) and the need to build trust among potential buyers.
Electric cars are generally perceived as cheaper to maintain compared to traditional internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles. However, concerns about long-term reliability still linger, making extended warranties a valuable tool for automakers to reassure customers. Peugeot’s decision to extend the Allure Care programme to its EV lineup is a step in this direction.
Under the programme, Peugeot offers an 8-year/160,000 km (8-year/100,000 miles) warranty on the high-voltage battery, as well as coverage for the electric motor, transmission, charger, and other key components. This comprehensive coverage is designed to address potential reliability concerns and provide customers with added confidence in their EV purchase.
The Allure Care programme was initially introduced for the Peugeot E-3008 compact SUV and has now been expanded to include the E-208 small hatchback, the E-2008 small SUV, the E-308 compact hatchback, and the E-308 SW compact station wagon. Future models, such as the Peugeot E-5008 and Peugeot E-408, set to be released later in 2024, will also be covered under this warranty scheme.
Peugeot has already launched the Allure Care programme in nine EU markets, including Austria, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, and Spain. The programme activates automatically after each service is performed for two years or 25,000 km. In the UK, the programme will be rolled out across the passenger electric car lineup on 4 July, with automatic activation after each service for two years or 16,000 miles, free of charge.
