The Ora Lightning Cat has been officially launched with the main highlight of the design being similar to the Porsche. The Ora Lightning Cat comes in four versions priced at RMB 189,800 ($25,980), 203,800, 239,800 and 269,800 after subsidies.
Regulations in China allow consumers to enjoy subsidies for new energy vehicle (NEV) models for less than RMB 300,000.
Dimensionally, the Ora Lightning Cat is an electric coupe with a length, width and height of 4,871 mm, 1,862 mm and 1,500 mm, respectively, and a wheelbase of 2,870 mm. If you look at the exterior it will remind you of a Porsche sedan, especially the rear.
Ora Lightning Cat Specifications
The Cat Ora Lightning has a peak power of 150 kW and a peak torque of 340 Nm in the single motor version and a peak power of 300 kW and a peak torque of 680 Nm in the dual motor version. With this capability, the Ora Lightning Cat can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds.
Each version of the Ora Lightning Cat has a CLTC range of 555 km, 555 km, 705 km and 600 km. The highest-priced model has a range of 600 km and uses four-wheel drive. Meanwhile, the other three versions use two-wheel drive.
Models with a range of 555 km use a lithium iron phosphate battery pack, while models with a range of 705 km and 600 km are equipped with a ternary lithium battery pack.
The Ora Lightning Cat takes at least 30 minutes to charge from 30 percent to 80 percent using a fast charger.
Feature-wise, the Ora Lightning Cat has an ORA-PILOT 3.0 assisted drive system with 28 sensors as well as cameras and radar.
With the specifications on offer, the Ora Lightning Cat will compete in the most competitive electric vehicle segment in China alongside BYD Seal, BYD Han, Shenlan SL03 Changan, and even Tesla’s Model 3.
