Opel Announces Revised Pricing for Zafira Electric with New Standard Equipment

Opel has unveiled updated pricing for the revised Zafira Electric, with the base model now starting at €47,550 in Germany, a reduction of over €15,000 from previous prices. The revised pricing reflects changes in the standard equipment of the vehicle.

Originally presented in December 2023, the updated Zafira Electric features Opel’s new ‘Vizor’ design, part of a broader initiative by the Stellantis Group that includes the introduction of twelve new light commercial vehicles. The Zafira Electric, along with the Combo Electric, is part of this initiative.

The vehicle is based on the EMP2 platform, a legacy from the PSA era. It continues to use the 100 kW EMR3 electric motor from Vitesco Technologies, which has been superseded in other Stellantis models by a more efficient 115 kW motor developed in collaboration with Nidec. The Zafira Electric maintains its choice of a 50 kWh or optional 75 kWh battery, with the larger battery offering a WLTP range of up to 347 kilometers—an increase of approximately 20 kilometers from previous models.

Significant changes include the discontinuation of the shorter S variant due to low demand. The revised lineup now includes only the M (approximately five meters long) and L (5.33 meters long) versions, with the latter featuring a longer rear overhang.

The new entry-level model, the Zafira Life Electric M with the 50 kWh battery, is now priced at €47,550, down from €63,250. The previous S variant was less expensive, while the L version with the smaller battery was priced at €64,075. The most expensive model, previously the Zafira Life Electric L with a 75 kWh battery, has been renamed to Zafira Electric XL, now starting at €54,550. The higher-spec GS trim of the Zafira Electric XL 75 kWh is listed at €62,100, also significantly reduced from previous prices.

Changes in standard equipment include the removal of leather upholstery, electric front seat adjustment, and the ability to move seats in rows two and three. The base model now features manually operated sliding doors, and Edition trims are now only available with 17-inch steel wheels. An enlarged 10-inch touchscreen is standard, but navigation and a reversing camera are now only included in the GS trim. Previously standard heated seats, steering wheel, and dual-zone automatic air conditioning are also now limited to the GS trim.

Patrick Dinger, head of Opel Germany, stated, “The Opel Zafira Electric has made a name for itself as a modern and comfortable lounge on wheels. With up to 9 seats and plenty of space for passengers and luggage, it is the ideal locally emissions-free people-mover for shuttle services as well as for everyday use and leisure. With the start of orders for the next generation, the Zafira Electric adds the unmistakable Opel Vizor design and state-of-the-art technologies.”
