Octopus Electroverse said on Monday it will integrate Dutch firm Chargetrip’s electric vehicle (EV) routing engine into its platform, making advanced route planning available to all of its licensing partners.

The integration will allow apps and services using Electroverse under license to embed Chargetrip’s smart routing engine, which optimizes EV journeys by factoring in state of charge, usable battery capacity, efficiency, terrain, weather, and available charging infrastructure. The tool helps drivers identify the most efficient charging points for their trips, rather than only the closest.

Electroverse’s licensing partners include automakers that bundle charging access into in-car navigation systems, fleet operators managing driver charging and billing, charge point operators, and third-party mobility services. By embedding Chargetrip’s routing technology, Octopus aims to expand its platform as a full-stack “network of networks” combining public charging access with partner technologies.

Electroverse currently provides access to around 80% of Europe’s charging network, covering providers such as IONITY, Allego, Aral Pulse, Fastned, and TotalEnergies across 40 countries. Parent company Octopus Energy also offers EV-focused services, including leasing, bundled home energy products, and a smart charging subscription under its Intelligent Octopus brand.

In Germany, Octopus Energy customers can choose between two tariff models: a “Standard” option with variable kWh prices depending on tariff zones, and a “Go” option typically priced €0.08 lower. Both tariffs include six hours of reduced home energy costs, aimed at supporting smart EV charging during off-peak hours.
