Nvidia said its DRIVE AGX Thor developer kit is now available for preorder, with deliveries scheduled to begin in September. The platform is designed to support autonomous vehicle development, combining advanced computing, artificial intelligence, and compliance with automotive safety standards.
The system is built on the company’s Blackwell architecture and DriveOS 7, using Arm Neoverse V3AE CPUs to provide high-performance computing for advanced driver-assistance and autonomous driving applications. It is equipped to support vision-language-action models and connects with sensors such as cameras, radars, and lidars. The developer kit complies with ISO 26262 functional safety and ISO 21434 cybersecurity standards.
Nvidia said automakers including BYD, GAC, Li Auto, Volvo Cars, Xiaomi, and Zeekr, along with autonomous vehicle companies such as Aurora, Gatik, and WeRide, are building on the platform. It is also being supported by suppliers including Continental, Magna, and Quanta, as well as technology firms such as QNX, OMNIVISION, and Vector.
The DRIVE AGX Thor kit is part of Nvidia’s Halos safety framework, which combines hardware, software, and AI research. Halos spans the entire development cycle, from design and simulation to deployment, aiming to ensure safety in autonomous driving systems.
