Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) specialist Nuvve and Taiwanese energy solutions provider e-Formula are considering the launch of a groundbreaking V2G hub project in Taiwan. The initiative, slated for realization in the northwest region of the country, aims to enhance the EV infrastructure landscape.

Under the proposed project, Nuvve plans to install a range of unidirectional and bidirectional charging stations, varying from 11kW to 150kW. Assuming the role of technical project manager and service provider, Nuvve would work in tandem with e-Formula, who would lead the project.

March is earmarked as the potential timeframe for the finalization of the deal. Taiwan Power Company (TPC) has earmarked land in Zhongxiao Road, Hsinchu, in northwestern Taiwan, for the prospective project. This envisioned “state-of-the-art smart parking structure” is set to accommodate 325 parking spaces outfitted with both unidirectional and bidirectional charging stations.

Gregory Poilasne, CEO of Nuvve, expressed optimism about the project’s significance, citing its potential to elevate Taiwan’s EV infrastructure. He highlighted the pivotal role of Nuvve’s GIVe platform in harnessing V2G technology to revolutionize energy management and EV integration.

The GIVe platform, integral to the project, is designed to oversee chargers, including bidirectional and unidirectional ones, in addition to managing connected solar energy and stationary energy storage systems. Once finalized, the project is slated to span over 20 years, although specific construction and commissioning timelines are yet to be disclosed.
