Nissan Formula E Team confirmed on Wednesday that it will retain drivers Oliver Rowland and Norman Nato for the 2025/26 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, opting for continuity after securing its highest-ever finish in the series.
The Japanese automaker’s electric racing outfit finished third in the Teams’ Championship during the 2024/25 season — its best result since assuming full control of its Formula E operations. The team said maintaining the current driver pairing reflects its intention to build on recent success and further strengthen on-track performance heading into Season 12.
“Following a very successful season, we’ve decided to maintain our driver line-up for Season 12,” said Tommaso Volpe, managing director and team principal of Nissan Formula E Team. “The stability and consistency that we’ve built with both Oli and Norman will help us continue our remarkable progression and fight for all three championships again next season.”
Rowland, who won the 2024/25 Drivers’ Championship, will enter his sixth season with Nissan under a multi-year deal. The British driver rejoined the team ahead of Season 10 and played a key role in its resurgence, collecting four wins, three pole positions, and seven podiums in the most recent campaign.
“I’m thrilled to sign with Nissan Formula E Team on a multi-year deal, in what will be my sixth season with the squad,” Rowland said. “What we’ve managed to achieve following my return in 2023/24 has been remarkable. The aim for Season 12 is to replicate and improve on what we did last campaign.”
Nato, a former race winner in Formula E, will continue alongside Rowland for a third season with the team. After initially joining in Season 9, the French driver returned in Season 11 and contributed consistent points finishes, along with a pole position in Miami.
“I’m delighted to continue with Nissan Formula E Team for another season,” Nato said. “It’ll be my third campaign with the team and my second consecutive one, which gives me a lot of confidence moving forward. I’m sure Oli will perform at a very high level again and I’m positive that together we can fight for the Teams’ Championship.”
