Nissan has introduced a service-activated warranty program for selected battery-electric vehicles (BEVs) in the United Kingdom, allowing owners to extend vehicle warranty coverage for up to six years or 100,000 miles by servicing their cars within the company’s authorized dealer network.
The initiative applies to the new Micra EV, the all-new Leaf and the 2026 model-year Ariya, with Nissan stating that future battery-electric passenger vehicles launched by the brand will also be eligible.

Annual Warranty Extension
Eligible vehicles continue to receive Nissan’s standard manufacturer warranty of three years or 60,000 miles.
After the original warranty expires, owners can activate an additional 12 months of coverage each year by completing a qualifying service at an authorized Nissan dealer or repairer.
The extension can be renewed annually until the vehicle reaches six years of age or accumulates 100,000 miles.

The program is also available for qualifying used vehicles, provided they meet Nissan’s servicing requirements.
Owners must follow the manufacturer’s recommended maintenance schedule, and the final service before the original warranty expires must be completed within the authorized Nissan network.
Vehicles with previous servicing outside the network may also qualify if they have a complete service history. Nissan said an additional vehicle inspection may be required where documentation is incomplete.
Battery Warranty Unchanged
The new service-activated warranty does not affect Nissan’s existing lithium-ion battery warranty, which continues to provide coverage for up to eight years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first.
According to the company, the initiative is intended to strengthen its aftersales support for electric vehicle customers while encouraging regular maintenance through its dealer network.

Nicolas Belaud, Aftersales Director at Nissan GB, said the program reflects the company’s confidence in its electric vehicle lineup.
“Nissan has more than 15 years of experience looking after EVs in the UK, more than any other manufacturer, and the service activated warranty highlights our confidence in our electric vehicles and offers even more customer benefit in bringing a car to the experts for servicing.”
Belaud added that servicing through Nissan’s authorized network provides access to manufacturer-approved parts, dedicated EV facilities and technicians trained specifically to maintain Nissan electric vehicles.
The program launches alongside the continued availability of the UK government’s Electric Car Grant, for which the eligible Nissan battery-electric models also qualify.
