Nissan is significantly enhancing charging infrastructure for its Ariya electric vehicle (EV) owners, announcing that they will soon gain access to Tesla’s North American Charging Standard (NACS)-compatible Superchargers starting December 10, 2024.

This move expands the Nissan Energy Charge Network (NECN) by a notable margin, providing Ariya drivers with access to Tesla’s expansive network of Superchargers, which already boasts more than 100,000 charging stations in the U.S. and 25,000 in Canada.

To use this network, Nissan Ariya owners will need to purchase a North American Charging Standard (NACS) adapter kit, priced at $235, which is available for order through NissanUSA.com. The adapter will enable users to tap into Tesla’s Supercharger network, alongside other charging options available through Nissan’s partnerships with Electrify America, Shell Recharge, ChargePoint, and EVgo in the U.S., as well as ChargeHub, FLO, and others in Canada. Looking ahead, Nissan plans to integrate NACS ports directly into their EVs starting in 2025 for both U.S. and Canadian markets.

Additionally, the MyNISSAN app will enhance the charging experience for Ariya owners by offering a streamlined process to locate available chargers, check charging status, and handle payment all from one platform.

This new access to Tesla’s Supercharger network and other partnerships underlines Nissan’s commitment to expanding its charging infrastructure and improving the overall EV experience for customers in North America.
