NIO, through one of its company presidents, Qin Lihong, announced that it will launch the latest electric vehicle ES7 at the end of May 2022. The ES7 is projected as a mid-to-large SUV to compete with the BMW X5.

The ES7 will be built using the company’s NT2.0 platform and is claimed to provide a comfortable driving experience for users. The NT2.0 platform is also used by the ET7 model which has just started its first deliveries to local consumers.

In a financial statement teleconference last week, NIO announced plans to release its first SUV, the ES7, using the company’s self-developed NT2 platform.

The ES7 is an SUV with five mid-range to upper-class seats positioned between the ES6 and ES8. The SUV is slated to begin shipping to consumers in the third quarter of this year. Using the NT2.0 technology platform, this Model is called as smart as ET5 and ET7.

The ES7 is said to be following NIO’s signature design lines, according to some covert photos from revealed road tests.

There are no details regarding the price and specifications. However, with the increasingly expensive raw materials, NIO plans to increase the price of its cars. On March 25, the company said that a 2022 version with important upgrades of the ES8, ES6 and EC6 models would be released at the end of May.
