Chinese electric vehicle maker Nio said on Monday it will enter Singapore, Uzbekistan and Costa Rica between 2025 and 2026, marking its first presence in Southeast Asia, Central Asia and the Americas.
In Singapore, the company will work with Wearnes Automotive, a long-established luxury car retailer in the Asia-Pacific region, to introduce its first right-hand drive model, the firefly, in 2026.

For Costa Rica, Nio has partnered with Horizontes Cielo Azul Movilidad, the country’s largest electric vehicle distributor, in what will be its initial venture into the Americas.
In Uzbekistan, Nio will cooperate with Abu Sahiy Motors, a diversified local group with operations in logistics, real estate and automotive distribution, marking its entry into Central Asia.

The rollout of vehicles will differ by market. Costa Rica will receive the EL8 (ES8 in China), EL6 (ES6), ET5 Touring (ET5T), the ONVO L60, and the firefly. Uzbekistan will see the EL8, EL6, ET5, ET5 Touring and ONVO L60, while Singapore will launch with the right-hand drive firefly.
