The battery swap station is the first to use 100 percent clean energy from photovoltaic or hydroelectric power, the company said.

NIO’s initial 200 battery exchange stations are first-generation facilities, and the company put the first second-generation battery exchange stations into operation on April 15, 2021, making it NIO’s 201st battery exchange stations.

To date, NIO has 1,011 battery exchange stations in mainland China. Reaching the 1,000th battery exchange station milestone was the result of support from NIO partners, the company said.
