An electric hypercar with plenty of performance credentials, the NIO EP9 has gone on to set impressive lap times around some of the worlds most famous race tracks. Powering the EP9 is a 777-volt powertrain consisting of 4 inboard electric motors each developing around 335 hp, combining for a total power output of 1,341 hp with a huge 1,480 Nm of torque. All that equates to a 0-62 mph sprint of 2.7 seconds, a 0-124 mph time of 7.1 seconds and a top speed of 195 mph.

With each of the 4 motors powering one wheel, the EP9 has plenty of all-wheel drive grip with advanced torque vectoring ensuring power is utilised effectively. It is capable of 2.53 g’s of lateral acceleration at 143 mph and will generate 5,395 pounds of downforce to keep it glued to the track during high speed cornering. All that has been achieved with plenty of computational fluid dynamics simulations to optimise downforce whilst reducing drag.
