Nio delivered 20,176 vehicles in August, marking its fourth consecutive month with deliveries exceeding 20,000 units. The figure represents a 4.38% increase compared to the 19,329 vehicles delivered in the same month last year but shows a slight decline of 1.57% from the 20,498 vehicles delivered in July.
The company’s SUV deliveries remained stable at 11,923 units, a marginal decrease from the 11,964 SUVs delivered in July. Meanwhile, sedan deliveries totaled 8,253 units, down 3.29% from July’s 8,534 units.
Nio’s cumulative deliveries since inception reached 577,694 units by the end of August, reflecting the company’s continued growth in the EV market. For the year so far, SUV deliveries have increased by 57.99% year-on-year, totaling 74,258 units, while sedan deliveries have seen a 13.71% year-on-year increase, reaching 53,842 units.
Nio currently offers eight models, with five SUVs and three sedans, and is preparing for the launch of its flagship sedan, the ET9, slated for the first quarter of 2025. Additionally, Nio’s sub-brand, Onvo, introduced its first model, the L60, which became available for pre-order in May. The L60’s official launch is scheduled for later this month, with a pre-sale price of RMB 219,900 ($31,010), positioning it as a competitive alternative to Tesla’s Model Y.
“Nio continues to demonstrate strong performance in vehicle deliveries, maintaining a steady pace even as we prepare to expand our offerings with new models,” a Nio spokesperson stated.
The Onvo brand also saw significant progress, with 105 stores opening across 55 cities in China, allowing consumers to experience the Onvo L60 firsthand.
