Nio has introduced new exterior color themes for the ET9 Horizon Edition, a special version of its flagship executive sedan, as the company continues efforts to strengthen its premium positioning.
The electric vehicle maker unveiled two new theme colors on the opening day of the 2025 Guangzhou auto show: one combining red with gold, and another pairing black with silver.
The models are priced from RMB 818,000 ($115,000), or RMB 710,000 under the Battery as a Service (BaaS) plan, matching the specifications of the Horizon Edition launched in late September. The ET9 currently offers only a 102-kWh battery pack, and the monthly BaaS subscription fee is RMB 1,128.
Nio said the two new variants will include a 10-year free battery-swap benefit, consistent with the standard ET9. The sedan was unveiled at Nio Day 2024 on December 21 and entered deliveries in late March.
Positioned as one of the highest-priced models from a Chinese automaker, it targets the luxury segment traditionally dominated by established German brands such as Mercedes-Maybach.
The ET9 Horizon Edition debuted on September 20 at Nio Day 2025 with a starting price of RMB 818,000 including the battery pack—RMB 50,000, or 6.51 percent, above the base model’s RMB 768,000 price. Nio also offers a Signature Edition of the ET9, beginning at RMB 788,000.
