New pictures and technical data have been leaked on the internet ahead of the official premiere of the new Mini Cooper, which is being produced in collaboration with Chinese company Great Wall. The four images show a blue Mini with a white painted roof, white exterior mirror caps, and a white border around the ‘radiator grille’. The electric Mini has its own unique design for the tail lights, while the front and side lines remain true to the iconic Mini look.

The Mini Cooper E is expected to produce 133 kW of power and have a WLTP range of 320 kilometers with a 40 kWh battery, while the Mini Cooper S E will have 158 kW of power, a 54 kWh battery, and a range of 386 kilometers according to WLTP. There is no information on the battery cells used or charging power, but it is speculated that two different cell chemistries may be used.
The electric Mini Cooper is set to launch in May 2024, following the production of the electric Mini Countryman in Leipzig. The launch of the all-electric Aceman is also planned for January 2025. With these new models, the BMW brand will launch two purely electric models in 2024.
