CNH Industrial’s New Holland Construction unit has introduced an all-electric version of its C314 mini track loader, positioning the new C314X Electric as a low-noise, zero-emission alternative aimed at urban construction, landscaping and agricultural applications ahead of a planned 2026 release.
The C314X Electric was unveiled last month at the Agritechnica trade fair as a battery-powered evolution of the diesel C314, which was launched in 2023. The electric version is designed and built in-house and is powered by a 23.5 kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery supplying energy to three electric motors – two for propulsion and one for hydraulic operations controlling the boom and attachments.

“We launched the C314 two years ago, and it has become known for its excellent features,” said Francesca Asteggiano, Europe Construction Brands at New Holland. “Today, we’re developing an electric version to meet growing demand for quieter, more compact machines — reinforcing our commitment to sustainability and innovation.”
The company said the electric variant matches the performance of the diesel version, with a rated operating capacity of 460 kg and a hinge pin height of 2.2 metres. The stand-on machine uses the same operator control layout as the diesel C314 and supports the full range of existing attachments, allowing it to perform digging, loading, drilling and material-handling tasks across multiple work environments.

Although the C314X Electric remains in prototype form, New Holland said the model is expected to follow the company’s established pattern of bringing concept equipment to production. If approved, it will be offered in two undercarriage configurations: a narrow-track version measuring 890 mm wide for access through garden gates and doorways, and a wider 1,026 mm version for heavier-duty outdoor, agricultural and construction work.
Demand for quieter machinery is rising as municipal governments tighten noise regulations on urban job sites, creating pressure for contractors to adopt quieter equipment to remain competitive in city tenders. New Holland said the electric C314X is designed specifically to help operators work within those constraints while reducing maintenance requirements and eliminating local emissions.
