Neta Auto, a subsidiary of Hozon Auto, has unveiled the battery electric vehicle (BEV) variant of its Neta L SUV, following the earlier release of the extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) version two months ago.

The Neta L BEV is offered in three configurations, priced from RMB 139,900 to RMB 162,900, with deliveries slated to commence in July. All variants are equipped with a 68 kWh Shenxing Battery pack based on lithium iron phosphate chemistry supplied by CATL, supporting a CLTC range of 510 km and 3C fast charging capability, enabling a 10% to 80% charge in 21 minutes.

Based on Neta’s Shanhai platform, the five-seater mid-size SUV measures 4,770 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width, and 1,660 mm in height, with a wheelbase matching that of its EREV counterpart at 2,810 mm.

Performance-wise, the Neta L BEV features a single electric motor delivering 170 kW peak power and 310 Nm peak torque, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.6 seconds. The vehicle’s cockpit integrates a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip and Horizon Robotics’ Journey 3 chip for its smart driving system, equipped with ultrasonic radar, millimeter wave radar, and cameras.

Neta’s recent launch of the Neta L EREV, powered by a 1.5L range-extender engine, has garnered significant market interest, with over 30,000 orders received within 35 days of its April 22 debut. The EREV variant, featuring a battery pack up to 40.27 kWh and CLTC range of 310 km, is offered in four configurations priced between RMB 129,900 and RMB 159,900.

Neta, which delivered 127,496 vehicles in 2023, is navigating fluctuations in sales with deliveries of 10,113 vehicles in May, reflecting a year-on-year decline but a monthly increase compared to April. The company’s parent company Hozon has filed for listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, signaling further strategic moves amidst its expansion in the electric vehicle market.
