Taiwanese computer hardware maker Micro-Star International (MSI) has entered the electric vehicle (EV) charging market with the launch of its EV Life and EV Life Plus chargers, targeting both residential and commercial users.
The chargers, part of MSI’s new EVSE product line, offer up to 14.4 kilowatts of power delivery and support both Type 1 (SAE J1772) and Tesla’s NACS connectors. Prices start at $449, with the company providing a five-year warranty upon registration.
MSI said the EV Life model features app-based controls for scheduling and tracking charging sessions, while the EV Life Plus adds RFID authentication, Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity, and OCPP 1.6J support for integration with commercial management systems.
The devices are designed for flexible installation, supporting either plug-and-play use via NEMA 14-50 outlets or hardwired setups. MSI noted the units are built for durability, operating in temperatures ranging from minus 40°F to 131°F, with water and dust resistance rated up to IP67 and impact resistance at IK08.
“The EV market needs smarter and more resilient solutions at price points that accelerate adoption,” said Engin Yoruk, North America Product Manager of EVSE at MSI. “With our EV chargers, drivers no longer have to choose between quality and affordability.”
The products are available for purchase on Amazon and the MSI Store as the company seeks to expand its portfolio beyond computing into sustainable mobility solutions.
