Microsoft and LG announced at IAA Mobility 2025 in Munich on September 9 that Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) will be integrated into select internet-connected vehicles through LG’s webOS Automotive Content Platform (ACP). The move allows passengers to stream hundreds of Xbox Game Pass games directly from the cloud on compatible car infotainment systems.

Christopher Lee, Xbox’s vice president of marketing, said the collaboration reflects the company’s goal of “meeting players wherever they are, bringing the joy of gaming into even more places and experiences.” He added that the initiative introduces “a new way to bring more of what players love about Xbox into more places,” highlighting Microsoft’s slogan, “This is an Xbox.”

LG demonstrated the feature by running Xbox games on a rear-seat screen in a Kia EV3. Passengers will need an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription, a compatible Bluetooth controller, and a vehicle data plan to access the service, which is designed to comply with driving safety regulations.

Available titles will include games from the Game Pass library, such as Gears of War: Reloaded, Forza Horizon 5, Doom: The Dark Ages, and upcoming releases like The Outer Worlds 2 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. Select games outside the Game Pass catalog, including Bugsnax, Don’t Starve, Mafia: The Old Country, and Hogwarts Legacy, will also be accessible.

LG said it aims to deploy its ACP platform in 20 million vehicles by 2030. Initial availability includes Kia’s EV3 in Europe, with future expansion planned for models such as the EV4, EV5, the new Sportage, as well as vehicles from Genesis and Hyundai.
