Swiss microcar manufacturer Micro has debuted the Microlino Spider concept at the Brussels Motor Show 2025, marking the fourth model in its lineup after the Microlino, Microlino Lite, and Microlino Spiaggina. The company plans to roll out the Spider in Europe through its extensive dealer network and expand into the U.S. market by collaborating with dealer groups, leasing companies, and entrepreneurs.

Designed with U.S. consumers in mind, the Microlino Spider blends the compact form of an L7e-class vehicle with an open-air design. It features no doors and a choice between a fully topless configuration or a fabric roof for sun protection. The model is geared toward personal transportation in residential areas, resembling the functional role of golf carts, which are widely popular in the U.S. “Americans don’t just drive large cars. The Microlino Spider is the antithesis to massive electric pickup trucks — built for the 95% of trips where you’re alone and not hauling anything,” said Chairman Wim Ouboter.

The Spider maintains the Microlino family’s signature design while incorporating unique features like wooden accents on the steering wheel and door sills. The vehicle’s iridescent paint, shifting between blue, green, and purple hues, adds a distinctive visual appeal. Technically, the Spider offers similar specifications to the Microlino, adjusted for U.S. regulations. Equipped with a 10.5 kWh medium-sized battery, it provides a range of approximately 177 kilometers, with larger and smaller battery options also available.

To enhance personalization, Micro has announced the Microlino Custom Programme, allowing customers to design individualized variants through its online platform. “This program leverages our local production capabilities in Turin, offering customers unparalleled design freedom in this vehicle category,” explained Co-Founder Merlin Ouboter.

With its innovative design and local customization options, the Microlino Spider is set to capture the imagination of both European and American consumers, carving out a niche in the growing microcar market.
