Chinese automaker SAIC's brand MG Motor is broadening its presence in Europe by extending the distribution of electric and hybrid vehicles to Finland. The Hedin Mobility Group, serving as MG's partner in Sweden since 2021, will now facilitate sales in the Finnish market.
Finnish consumers will have access to MG's entire range of electric and hybrid vehicles, encompassing the battery-electric vehicle (BEV) models MG4 Electric, MG5 Electric, MG ZS EV, and MG Marvel R Electric, along with the plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) model MG EHS. Some models, like the recently launched MG4 produced in Thailand, will be imported until European production is fully established, with the location of the factory yet to be determined.
The sales and service network in Finland is set to begin with 13 Hedin branches, with sales and initial customer deliveries anticipated to commence in the first quarter of 2024.
Anders Hedin, founder and CEO of the Hedin Mobility Group, expressed confidence in the Finnish market's interest in MG after limited sales trials in the latter half of 2023. Hedin stated, “We are delighted to expand our partnership with MG Motor Europe and enable more Finnish customers to experience emission-free mobility through MG's range of innovative and safe products.”
The collaboration between MG Motor and the Hedin Mobility Group signifies the automaker's commitment to furthering its footprint in the European market. Hedin Mobility Group is not exclusive to MG Motor, also having distribution agreements with other automakers such as Lotus, Hongqi, and BYD for various European markets.
