Mazda has revealed details about the powertrain options for its all-new EZ-6 model, which was unveiled at Auto China last month. China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has disclosed that the model will be available with two different powertrains.

The first option is a fully electric variant with 255 hp (190 kW / 258 PS) and a top speed of 106 mph (170 km/h). While specific details were not provided, the government confirmed that the electric EZ-6 will be equipped with a lithium iron phosphate battery. Mazda has previously stated that this rear-wheel drive EV will offer a CLTC range of approximately 373 miles (600 km).

For customers concerned about range, Mazda will also offer a range-extended hybrid variant. This model will feature a 1.5-liter engine producing 94 hp (70 kW / 95 PS), along with a lithium iron phosphate battery and a 215 hp (160 kW / 218 PS) electric motor. Despite sharing the same top speed as the electric variant, the hybrid EZ-6 is expected to have a range exceeding 621 miles (1,000 km).

Mazda has confirmed that both the electric and hybrid versions of the EZ-6 will be available, stating, “two versions of the Mazda EZ-6 will be available, a battery electric vehicle (BEV) and a plug-in hybrid electrified vehicle (PHEV).”

The EZ-6 is set to launch in China before the end of the year. In addition to its powertrain options, the model will feature LED lighting units, a zero-gravity seat, a 14.6-inch infotainment system, a 64-color ambient lighting system, a 14-speaker Sony audio system, and a panoramic glass roof.
