Japanese automaker Mazda is introducing the CX-6e electric SUV to Europe, marking the regional debut of a model co-developed with its Chinese partner Changan and previously sold in China as the EZ-60. The CX-6e will arrive at German dealerships from summer 2026, with prices starting at €49,990, Mazda said.

The CX-6e is the SUV counterpart to the battery-electric Mazda 6e saloon, which entered the European market last year. Both vehicles are built on Changan’s EPA platform, also used by the Deepal S07, and are produced in China for export to Europe. In China, the EZ-60 launched in September with prices starting at 119,990 yuan, highlighting the impact of logistics costs and European Union tariffs on Chinese-made electric vehicles.

Mazda said the CX-6e measures 4.85 metres in length with a 2.90-metre wheelbase and offers 468 litres of boot space, expandable to 1,434 litres with the rear seats folded. An additional 83-litre front storage compartment is provided under the bonnet.

The electric SUV is powered by a 78 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery and a rear-mounted electric motor delivering 190 kW and 290 Nm of torque. Mazda cited a preliminary WLTP driving range of 484 kilometres, compared with 600 kilometres under China’s CLTC test cycle. The CX-6e supports DC fast charging at up to 195 kW, enabling a 10–80% charge in about 24 minutes, and includes an 11 kW onboard AC charger and a heat pump as standard.

“The all-new Mazda CX-6e brings our human-centric approach into the electric era, combining great design, driving enjoyment, and advanced technology for European customers,” said Martijn ten Brink, President and CEO of Mazda Motor Europe.

Mazda said it has tuned the vehicle’s suspension, steering and braking at its European research and development centre near Frankfurt to suit local driving conditions. The CX-6e offers multiple driving modes and features a 26.45-inch ultra-wide touchscreen, head-up display and a full suite of driver assistance systems as standard.
