Mazda has begun exporting the right-hand-drive version of its all-electric 6e sedan, with the first overseas shipment arriving in Thailand as the automaker expands the model into international markets.

The initial shipment of 500 vehicles recently reached Laem Chabang Port in Chonburi Province, where deliveries to Thai customers are expected to begin after import procedures are completed, potentially in early July.

First Right-Hand-Drive Market

The Mazda 6e is produced by Changan Mazda at its manufacturing facility in Nanjing, China. The model debuted in the Chinese market in 2024 as the Mazda EZ-6, where it is available in both battery-electric and extended-range electric versions.

For Thailand, however, Mazda is offering only the battery-electric model in a single powertrain configuration.

Electric Powertrain

The Thai-market Mazda 6e features a rear-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor producing 190 kW and 290 Nm of torque.

Power is supplied by a 77.9 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, enabling a WLTP-rated driving range of up to 560 kilometers.

Mazda says the sedan accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds and has a top speed of 175 km/h.

Charging Performance

The battery supports charging speeds of up to 11 kW using AC charging and up to 190 kW via DC fast charging.

According to Mazda, a full AC charge requires approximately 7 hours and 53 minutes, while DC fast charging can replenish the battery from 10% to 80% in around 24 minutes.

Two Trim Levels

The 6e is offered in Thailand in two variants:

  • Premium, priced at 1.169 million baht
  • Exclusive, priced at 1.199 million baht

Both versions share the same electric powertrain and battery specification.

Expansion to Other Markets

Mazda is also preparing to launch the 6e in Australia, where local media reports indicate customer deliveries are expected to begin in July.

The company reportedly forecasts monthly sales of more than 300 units in the Australian market. According to CarExpert, the model has already secured 715 pre-orders, with more than half coming from customers new to the Mazda brand.

In Europe, Mazda previously confirmed that sales of the 6e will begin in the United Kingdom during the summer as part of its broader international rollout of the electric sedan.
