MAN has unveiled a suite of digital services designed specifically for buyers of its electric trucks, including the eTGX and eTGS series. This innovative package, set to be included as standard with the purchase, features a route planner optimized for electric trucks and is expected to be available from mid-2025. Customers will benefit from these services at no additional cost for the first five years.
The new digital offerings expand upon existing services like Geo, Timed, Compliant M, and Perform, while also introducing features tailored to the unique needs of electric fleets. Notable additions include MAN eManager and MAN SmartRoute, alongside the already complimentary MAN ServiceCare S service and the free MAN Driver App.
MAN’s DigitalServices, initially developed for diesel vehicles, have been enhanced to cater to electric trucks. For example, the Perform service now includes a detailed energy consumption analysis, allowing for comprehensive monitoring of the electric power take-off and air conditioning systems.
Among the newly developed solutions, the MAN eManager plays a crucial role in managing the charging and preconditioning of electric vehicles. This system optimizes daily operations by providing access to critical battery-related data, enabling users to monitor vehicle status, charging and discharging cycles, climate control, external temperature, and overall energy consumption.
Additionally, the MAN SmartRoute feature ensures that electric trucks take the most efficient routes while reaching the appropriate charging stations in a timely manner. By factoring in real-time changes in parameters such as remaining range and charging station availability, the system relays essential information to drivers through the vehicle’s infotainment system and dispatchers via the RIO platform.
MAN also offers MAN Charge&Go, a charging service specifically designed for public charging of commercial vehicles. This service includes a dedicated charging network across Europe, integrating stations currently being rolled out by MAN and E.On, as well as those operated by commercial vehicle charging park operator Milence. MAN SmartRoute assists dispatchers by suggesting suitable charging stations along their routes. Drivers can access these charging points via the infotainment system and the MAN Driver App, allowing for efficient vehicle charging management, payment at charging stations, and consolidated billing at the end of the month. Notably, MAN Charge&Go is compatible across various brands, making it a convenient option for mixed fleets.
