Since its unveiling in 2019, the Tesla Cybertruck has garnered a lot of attention, with over 1.5 million reservations made for the futuristic electric truck. However, many have wondered how many of those reservations will convert to actual purchases. Fortunately, according to the latest survey conducted by Recurrent Auto, it appears that the majority of Cybertruck reservation holders plan to follow through with their purchase.
Recurrent Auto conducted the survey in March 2023 and asked reservation holders of various electric pickup trucks if they still intended to purchase the vehicle they had reserved. The same poll was conducted back in June 2022.
The survey revealed that 75% of Cybertruck reservation holders plan to buy the vehicle once it becomes available. To put this in perspective, Ford’s F-150 Lightning reservation list saw a decrease from over 90% in June 2022 to just over 70% in March 2023. The Rivian R1S remains strong, with just under 80% of reservation holders planning to buy the vehicle. In contrast, only just over 20% of Chevy Silverado reservation holders intend to purchase the vehicle.
The electric truck market is highly competitive, but Tesla Cybertruck owners may not have to wait much longer. The final Cybertruck prototype is reportedly completed, and Tesla is now in the process of finalizing regulatory certifications before moving into production.
Overall, the survey results indicate that the Cybertruck is still a highly desirable vehicle among electric truck enthusiasts, with a significant majority of reservation holders planning to follow through with their purchase. As the electric truck market continues to grow and evolve, it will be interesting to see how the Cybertruck stacks up against its competitors in the coming years.
