Mahle chargeBIG has introduced a new AC charging solution capable of supplying up to four electric vehicles simultaneously, expanding its charging infrastructure portfolio ahead of Power2Drive Europe 2026 in Munich.
Developed in partnership with infrastructure specialist Langmatz Energy, the new charging terminal is designed for public parking facilities, municipalities, fleet operators and commercial sites seeking compact and scalable charging infrastructure.
Four charging points in a compact design
The new charging system, marketed as the smallBOX Public, can deliver up to 22 kW of AC charging power to each of four connected vehicles simultaneously.
According to Mahle chargeBIG, the charger has been designed to minimize installation space requirements by integrating charging technology directly into a compact housing without the need for additional charging pillars.
The company says this approach simplifies deployment while allowing charging infrastructure to be integrated into existing parking environments more easily.
Integrated payment functionality
The smallBOX Public features a built-in payment terminal that allows users to initiate and pay for charging sessions using RFID charging cards or standard credit cards.
The system is housed within an outdoor enclosure developed by Langmatz Energy and optimized to support Mahle chargeBIG’s dynamic AC charging technology, which is designed to reduce grid impacts through intelligent load management.
Targeting public and commercial charging
Mahle chargeBIG said the new solution is intended for a wide range of applications, including public parking areas, company car parks and fleet charging locations.
“Charging must be as easy as refueling, regardless of location,” said Dr. Matthias Kreimeier, Managing Director of Mahle chargeBIG.
“Whether for fleet parking spaces, public and corporate parking lots, or temporary construction sites, our expanded product portfolio delivers the right intelligent charging solution for every use case.”
The company has not yet released a detailed technical specification sheet for the new charger.
New financing options introduced
Alongside the hardware launch, Mahle chargeBIG announced two new financing models developed in cooperation with BNP Paribas Leasing Solutions.
The company said the programs are designed to lower barriers to charging infrastructure deployment by reducing upfront investment requirements.
The options include:
- Leasing model: Provides predictable monthly payments while preserving liquidity and financial flexibility.
- Hire purchase model: Allows customers to acquire ownership of the charging infrastructure at the end of the contract term and classify it as a long-term asset.
Additional charging innovations on display
At Power2Drive Europe, Mahle chargeBIG will also showcase several additional charging technologies.
smallBOX Portable for temporary charging
The company will present its smallBOX Portable solution, a mobile charging system designed for temporary applications such as construction sites, events and temporary charging parks.
The portable unit provides four charging points with up to 22 kW of charging power each and can be deployed without permanent installation.
Cooling system for DC fast chargers
Mahle will also unveil a new cooling module developed for DC fast charging infrastructure.
The system is designed to dissipate heat generated by charging cables more efficiently, helping maintain charging performance even under demanding operating conditions and high ambient temperatures.
Power2Drive showcase
Mahle chargeBIG plans to display the new charging solutions during Power2Drive Europe, which takes place from June 23 to June 25, 2026, at the Munich Exhibition Centre.
Visitors can view the technologies at Mahle’s stand in Hall C6, Stand 320, where the company will demonstrate its latest developments in AC charging, mobile charging infrastructure and thermal management for high-power charging applications.
