In a step towards modernizing urban transportation, Mahindra, a prominent automotive manufacturer, has unveiled the e-Alfa Super – an electric utility vehicle designed to redefine urban mobility. With its increased range, enhanced durability, and emphasis on clean transportation, the e-Alfa Super is poised to address both cargo-hauling and passenger transport requirements.

Mahindra, a significant presence in the Indian automotive landscape, has introduced the e-Alfa Super under its subsidiary, Mahindra Last Mile Mobility. This innovative electric vehicle is being labeled as a ‘super rickshaw,’ a contemporary take on the conventional rickshaws that have long been a part of urban transport. Unlike traditional rickshaws, the e-Alfa Super is propelled by an electric motor, aligning with the prevailing trend towards sustainable transport solutions.

A standout feature of the e-Alfa Super is its extended range and strong focus on safety and comfort. Mahindra asserts that this model offers an elevated level of robustness and endurance when compared to the standard e-Alfa, which has already achieved noteworthy sales figures, surpassing 50,000 units. Engineered to withstand the rigors of daily use, the e-Alfa Super is positioned as a reliable choice for diverse transportation needs, whether it’s for transporting cargo or facilitating passenger travel.

In terms of performance, the e-Alfa Super adopts a straightforward and dependable approach. It relies on a 140-ampere-hour lead-acid battery pack and an electric motor generating 1.64 kilowatts (approximately 2.2 horsepower) and 22 Newton-meters (15.4 pound-feet) of torque. Mahindra’s data indicates that this electric rickshaw can cover a distance of up to 95 kilometers (approximately 59 miles) on a single charge.

Additionally, the e-Alfa Super benefits from a comprehensive warranty package, which includes a one-year warranty for the vehicle and a notable 18-month warranty specifically for the battery. Maintenance and repairs are easily accessible thanks to Mahindra’s extensive network of more than 1,150 service centers across the country.
