Mahindra Debuts New Electric SUV BE Rall-E at India’s Formula E Event

Mahindra and Mahindra made a big splash in India with the debut of their new Born Electric SUVs on the eve of the Formula E race in Hyderabad. The company took the opportunity to showcase a brand new electric SUV called the BE Rall-E, which was not shown at last year’s event. This new electric SUV is based on the BE.05 electric SUV that was first revealed in the previous year.

The BE Rall-E boasts a bold yellow paint job and black piano-finished outside rearview mirrors. Its rugged design features a front and rear bumper that gives it an off-road look, as well as chunky wheel arches and orange tow hooks in both the front and back. It also has a split headlamp design, with a LED daytime running lamp above and a circular LED main headlamp unit.

One of the standout features of the BE Rall-E is the roof rack, which is where the spare tire is mounted. The vehicle is equipped with all-terrain tires that are wrapped around 16-inch steel rims, perfect for off-roading.

The ground clearance is high enough to handle rough terrains, and the overall side profile of the electric SUV has a coupe-like design, with door handles that sit flush with the bodywork. At the rear, there’s a slim LED light bar that integrates the tail lamps.

The new electric SUVs from Mahindra are built on the INGLO platform, which was developed with Volkswagen Group’s MEB platform. This electric skateboard platform maximizes cabin space by placing the wheels at the corners and using the floorboard as a place for the batteries.

This type of platform is becoming increasingly popular among automobile manufacturers as they transition to electric vehicles, as it allows for flexibility in manufacturing products of different sizes.
