Maextro, the automotive brand jointly developed by Huawei and Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group (JAC), has rolled out its 10,000th Maextro S800 sedan, less than seven months after the model was launched, the company said on Monday.

The milestone highlights growing market acceptance of a domestically developed Chinese luxury sedan, a segment long dominated by German automakers. Maextro is the highest-end brand under Huawei’s Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA) business.

Maextro officially launched its first model, the S800, on May 30. The large sedan is offered in both battery electric vehicle (BEV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) versions, with four-seat and five-seat configurations available.

The BEV lineup includes two variants, with the five-seat version priced from RMB 708,000 ($100,540) and the four-seat version starting at RMB 818,000. The EREV lineup consists of four variants, including two five-seat versions starting at RMB 708,000 and RMB 788,000, and two four-seat versions priced from RMB 818,000 and RMB 1.018 million.

The pricing places the S800 well above the mainstream passenger vehicle segment in China, where models priced between RMB 100,000 and RMB 200,000 account for nearly half of monthly sales volume.

In November, deliveries of the Maextro S800 exceeded 2,000 units, making it the best-selling luxury vehicle priced above RMB 700,000 for a third consecutive month, HIMA said earlier this month. Cumulative orders for the model have surpassed 18,000 units within 175 days of its launch.

Maextro plans to expand its product lineup next year, introducing additional models including SUVs and multi-purpose vehicles, local media outlet 36Kr reported last month. Each new model is expected to offer both standard and long-wheelbase versions, while the S800 will also gain higher-spec variants.
