Luxeed, the automotive brand jointly developed by Huawei and Chery, is working on a luxury multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) that could become the first MPV under Huawei’s Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA), according to a report by Chinese outlet 21jingji.
The model, internally codenamed “EHV,” is based on Chery’s E0X-L platform and is scheduled for launch in the first half of next year, the report said, citing multiple sources. It will offer both extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) and battery electric vehicle (BEV) variants, with batteries supplied by CATL.
The vehicle replaces Chery’s previously planned Exeed Sterra E08 MPV project, which was introduced at the 2024 Beijing auto show but has since been discontinued. Some team members from that project have been reassigned to Luxeed to support MPV development, the report noted. A source quoted by 21jingji said Luxeed’s stronger market positioning makes it better suited for a luxury MPV, and producing two similar models could lead to internal competition.
HIMA currently includes five brands—Luxeed, Stelato under BAIC Group, Aito under Seres Group, Shangjie under SAIC Motor, and Maextro under Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group. If Luxeed’s EHV launches as planned, it would become the first MPV released under Huawei’s alliance of automotive partners.
