Luxeed, the electric vehicle brand jointly developed by Huawei and Chery, has launched an updated version of its R7 electric coupe SUV in China, with prices starting at 239,800 yuan ($35,580).
The 2027 Luxeed R7 is offered in four variants: Max at 239,800 yuan, Max+ at 259,800 yuan, Max+ Long Range at 289,800 yuan and Ultra at 319,800 yuan. The entry price is 20,000 yuan below the previous model’s 259,800 yuan starting price, with the R7 having received its previous update only six months ago in March.
Luxeed said customers who order the updated model can receive two years of interest-free financing and limited-time benefits worth up to 44,500 yuan.
Updated R7 Joins HIMA Product Launch
The 2027 Luxeed R7 was introduced at a HIMA, or Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance, product launch event alongside the Luxeed RX battery-electric coupe SUV and Stelato V8 MPV.
The updated R7 measures 4,982 mm in length, 1,981 mm in width and either 1,634 mm or 1,650 mm in height, depending on configuration. Its wheelbase measures 2,950 mm.
Luxeed said it invested 500 million yuan in the refresh, resulting in eight upgrades covering the exterior, interior, chassis and driver-assistance systems.
Electric Version Gains Higher Output and Longer Range
The battery-electric R7 uses Huawei’s Giant Whale 800-volt high-voltage battery platform. Maximum output from its rear-mounted single motor has increased to 227 kW, while the model’s maximum CLTC driving range reaches 855 km.
The extended-range version retains its existing powertrain hardware, with Luxeed making minor adjustments to the chassis and power delivery calibration.
The updated R7 is equipped with Huawei ADS 5 and an 896-channel dual-optical-path imaging-grade LiDAR. An in-cabin LiDAR system is available as an option on some variants.
Exterior and Interior Receive New Features
The R7 retains its full-width light bars but replaces the previous flush door handles with semi-flush units. Luxeed has also added two exterior colors, Titanium Silver and Star Rose Pink.
Inside, the updated model features the HarmonyOS Alps health-focused cabin and a 17.2-inch butterfly-wing dual-screen display with 3.4K resolution. Luxeed said the display is the first of its type in the HIMA lineup.
Other interior features include a 26-inch head-up display, a D-shaped steering wheel and four interior color choices. A Huawei Sound audio system is standard across all four variants.
The refreshed R7 joins Luxeed’s existing lineup of the S7 sedan, V9 MPV and newly launched RX coupe SUV.
