Lucid Motors is gearing up for the launch of its Gravity SUV later this year, with recent sightings of another prototype undergoing testing in South Korea. Shared by a user on X, images reveal the electric vehicle adorned with a distinctive wrap featuring the words “Gravity” and “Lucid” as it navigates a highway near Uiwang.

This latest round of public road testing follows Lucid’s announcement last April about commencing testing of pre-production versions of the Gravity. The company is gradually expanding its reach beyond its current markets in the U.S., Canada, Europe, and the Middle East. Recently, Lucid disclosed plans to enhance its AMP-1 factory in Casa Grande, Arizona, in preparation for Gravity production.

While Lucid aspires to begin Gravity production by the end of 2024, the company is targeting a competitive price point below $80,000, coupled with an estimated range of approximately 440 miles. In a bid to broaden its market presence, Lucid aims to introduce alternatives to Tesla’s Model 3 and Model Y at a more affordable price point, even though the starting price for the least expensive Lucid Air configuration is currently $77,400.

In 2023, Lucid achieved the production of 8,428 Air units, falling short of its initial projection of around 10,000 units. The company faced challenges in the stock market, leading to its delisting from the Nasdaq 100 Index in December. Despite these hurdles, Lucid remains steadfast in its efforts to expand its electric vehicle lineup and compete in the evolving automotive landscape.
