Seyond Holdings, a Chinese LiDAR technology provider, has secured a contract worth nearly $2.6 million to supply intelligent traffic systems to Sweden, marking a further step in its expansion into overseas infrastructure markets, the company said.
The Hong Kong-listed firm said it has partnered with Swedish intelligent transportation systems provider Aventi Sweden, formerly known as Blinkfyrar, to deploy its technology across multiple traffic intersections in the country. Under the agreement, Seyond’s Intelligent Transportation System Management Platform, or SIMPL, will be integrated into Aventi’s infrastructure solutions.
Seyond said the deployment marks its entry into the European intelligent transportation market and expands its global footprint beyond automotive applications. The company’s LiDAR-based platform combines high-resolution sensing and artificial intelligence to support real-time traffic monitoring, signal optimization and infrastructure management.
“This deployment is not just about a single territory; it is a validation of the broader trend we are seeing globally,” said Philip Lassner, head of global intelligent transportation systems at Seyond, in a statement.
Founded in 2016 and formerly known as Innovusion, Seyond has built much of its business supplying LiDAR systems to electric vehicle manufacturers. It is best known as a key sensor supplier to Nio, which remains its largest customer. According to the company’s Hong Kong listing prospectus, revenue from Nio accounted for more than 86 percent of total sales in the first five months of 2025.
Seyond said it is seeking to diversify its revenue base through transportation infrastructure projects. The company has also secured orders from other automakers, including GAC Group and Leapmotor, as it expands beyond its traditional automotive customer base.
